No unnecessary upselling. No patching over a problem that is likely to come back. Just considered advice based on what makes sense for the property and the people responsible for it.
Meet Chris Kelly
Chris has worked as a plumber since 2011, building his experience across residential, commercial and strata properties.
He established Kelly’s Plumbing & Drainage to provide the kind of service he believes plumbing customers should be able to expect: someone who turns up, thinks the job through and takes responsibility for the work from the first conversation to the final clean-up.
Chris is naturally analytical. On every job, he is weighing up the age and condition of the plumbing, how the system is being used, the
likelihood of the problem returning and whether a repair will genuinely represent good value.
Sometimes the right recommendation is to repair something. Sometimes replacing it now will prevent the customer from paying for a repair, another call-out and a replacement shortly afterwards.
The answer is not always the same. That is the point.
Good plumbing requires more than knowing how to use the tools. It requires judgement.
Finding the actual problem
Many plumbing problems are symptoms of something happening elsewhere.
A recurring blockage may be caused by tree roots, damaged pipework or the way a drainage system has been designed. Water appearing in one location may have travelled from somewhere completely different. A failing hot water system may be repairable, but already beyond the point
where repairing it makes financial sense.
Chris looks beyond the immediate fault to understand:
- what has happened
- what is causing it
- whether it is likely to happen again
- what the available options are
- which option makes the most sense over time
This does not mean making every job bigger. Often, careful diagnosis prevents unnecessary work. It means giving customers enough information to make a sound decision, with fewer surprises later.
Honest advice, even when it means less work
Kelly’s Plumbing & Drainage is not built around selling the most expensive option. Chris recommends the work he believes is appropriate for the property.
If something can be repaired safely and economically, he will say so. If a short-term repair is likely to cost more in the long run, he will explain why.
You will know what he has found, what he recommends and what the work is expected to cost before he proceeds.
If the situation changes once work begins, Chris will call and discuss it with you first.
That should be standard. Here, it is.
One person accountable from beginning to end
When you call Kelly’s Plumbing & Drainage, you are dealing directly with Chris. The person inspecting the problem is the same person thinking through the options, completing or overseeing the work and standing behind the result.
That continuity matters. It means less information gets lost, decisions can be made with the full context of the job and there is always someone accountable for what happens next.
Chris also keeps records of the work completed, particularly for strata properties and recurring clients. Over time, that building knowledge can make future diagnosis faster and help inform better maintenance decisions.
For Northern Beaches homes and strata properties
Plumbing on the Northern Beaches comes with its own set of conditions.
Older homes, established trees, salt exposure, steep blocks, ageing infrastructure and a mix of original and renovated plumbing can all affect how a system performs.
Chris has worked locally since 2011 and understands the kinds of problems that regularly appear across homes and strata buildings in the area.
Kelly’s Plumbing & Drainage works with:
- homeowners
- strata managers and Owners Corporations
- property and facilities managers
- local businesses
- builders and other trades
Whether the job is a leaking tap, a recurring drainage issue or a more complex problem involving multiple parts of a building, the same standard applies: understand it properly before deciding how to fix it.

There is no complicated service promise.
We aim to be the easiest plumber you’ll work with.
That means:
- turning up when we say we will
