Blocked drains are the most common callout, and tree root intrusion is the most common cause. The older the garden, the more likely this is the issue. I use a camera where it helps, find the actual blockage, and clear it properlyBlocked drains are a regular callout for me around Avalon. Established trees can be part of the problem, particularly where roots have found a weak point in an older drain. If a camera inspection will tell us something useful, I'll use it. The point is to know what caused the blockage and whether clearing it is enough.
Hot water system repairs and replacements are another regular job. Avalon homes tend to have older systems and I'm often called in after another plumber has already had a look. I'll tell you whether it's worth repairing or whether replacement makes more sense, and I won't recommend the more expensive option unless that's genuinely the right call.
Leaks in older Avalon homes can run quietly behind walls or under floors before anyone notices. I try to narrow down the source before opening anything up, particularly in homes that have been well looked after.
I also do general plumbing across the full range: taps, toilets, gas, new installs, bathroom renovations, and new plumbing systems for extensions or rebuilds. Whatever the job, the standard is the same.
Avalon homes need a plumber who knows them
A lot of the trades that come through Avalon are coming from further away. They don't know the local housing stock, the drainage patterns, or the quirks that come with homes that have been modified, extended, and reroofed over fifty-odd years. I do. Not because I've been studying it but because I've spent the last 16 years working in these houses.
Me and my family moved to Avalon two years ago, so when I work in this suburb I'm working in my own neighbourhood. The standard I hold on every job is the same standard I'd expect if someone came to work in my house.
